The town of Mo i Rana & the Arctic Circle area

Mo i Rana is situated 80 kilometres (km) south of the Artic Circle, at the intersection of major road rail and sea networks, half the way up Norway's rugged coastline. The distance by road is 1505 km to Kirkenes and 1438 to Lindesnes.

The Arctic circle area is the gateway to the arctic Norway. Here you can see the Midnight sun in summer, and experience Polar nights and the Northern Light in Winter. Arctic circle Norway is otherwise an Eldorado for those who like outdoor activities. With Norway's largest archipelago, Northern Scandinavia's largest glacier, and the fact that Saltfjellet- Svartisen National park is a part of the largest wilderness area in Europe, anyone and everyone should find something of interest. Within an hour drive from Mo i Rana you will reach the coast in the west with all the spectacular islands and fjords, beaches, coves, Caribbean blue water and a lot of possible activities. In the north, south and east you will with the same distance fine wide open mountains, alpine mountains, large glaciers, caves and beautiful valleys, lakes and rivers.
