The Norwegian Oil Spill Contingency System (PDF)

It is the responsibility of the Coastal Administration and local organisations to ensure a good national and local action against acute pollution. We work to prevent and identify acute pollution, as well as supervice that the responsible body in the event of acute pollution takes the necessary measures.

Vision: To make our coast and waters the safest and cleanest in the world.

The Pollution Control Act states that the National Contingency System is divided into private, municipal and governmental contingency areas with specific responsibilities.

Anyone who discovers acute pollution has a duty to notify the Norwegian emergency phone number
